R. Frank Mills
Frank Mills has been in the roofing consruction business for over 30 years. Having strong southern roots, Mills was born in 1952 in Lee County, N.C., and lives in the same county today with his wife and three children. From 1972 to 1979, Mills owned and operated his own commercial roofing business generating annual sales between 1-3 million dollars.
In 1979, he founded Mills Metal Products, a manufacturer of commercial roof edge products. In 1980, he sold Mills Metal Products to Trion, Inc., headquartered in Sanford, N.C. From 1980-1987, Mills served as sales manager for Trion's Perimeter Systems Division. There, he developed a national sales force consisting of over 60 sales representatives and over 300 distributor accounts. Mills managed the entire sales division, developed and invented products and directed engineering for the product line.
In 1987, Mills purchased the perimeter systems product line from Trion and founded his third company, R.F. Mills Corporation, Inc. Mills sold perimeter systems product line to Southern Aluminum Finishing Company, Inc., in 1990, and since then has been general manager for Perimeter Systems, a division of Southern Aluminum Finishing Company, Inc. The Perimeter Systems division is located in Sanford, N.C. Southern Aluminum Finishing Company (SAF) is headquarterd in Atlanta, GA. Mills is an avid golfer. In his spare time he also enjoys traveling to the beach, spending time with his family and teaching aerobics.
